ESG Activities

Environmental conservation activities

Operation under the ISO 14001 standard

In order to operate under the ISO 14001 standard, our company has prepared a variety of standard documents, including an environmental management manual, and is promoting environmental conservation activities based on an environmental management system.

In particular, our company-wide Environmental Management Committee (Environmental Management Review Meeting), which is held twice a year, gathers managers from each business site to evaluate the status of activities and continuously improve them for the future.

Implementation of environmental audits

Implementation of environmental audits
Internal audit training (Tokyo Branch)

Our company conducts internal audits twice a year to check whether the activities of each site comply with our environmental management system and whether compliance with laws is maintained. Internal environmental auditors certified by the company visit each site to confirm that the environmental management system is operating properly.

We also renew our ISO 14001 certification once a year through an annual audit by an organization that carries out assessments and registrations.

The issues identified in these audits are reviewed by the company-wide Environmental Management Committee (Environmental Management Review Meetings) as well as other organizations. Additionally, improvements in internal audits are made to further enhance management with the aim of reducing environmental impact.

Status of compliance with environment-related laws

We have established a system to comply with environment-related laws and ordinances, and we monitor and confirm the status of revisions to environment-related laws and regulations that must be observed.

Additionally, in fiscal 2021, Senshu Electric did not violate any laws or regulations. We will continue to thoroughly comply with laws and regulations.

Response to emergencies

Emergency fire drill (Hiroshima Branch)
Emergency evacuation drill (Osaka Main Office)

In our company, each business site conducts drills once a year to prepare for emergencies such as natural disasters and accidents.

These drills are conducted based on response procedures in the event of an emergency, and based on the results of each drill, procedures are reviewed to strengthen our emergency response system.

Environmental education and awareness activities

Implementation of environmental education for employees (Tokyo Branch)
Environmental education for new employees (Osaka Main Office)

At our company, the ISO Secretariat, the company-wide SKP Secretariat, and Environmental Promotion Committee members at each site play a central role in providing general environmental education and training for special workers in order to improve the abilities of employees.

In addition, the exchange of environmental information at each site is also disclosed and shared as external and internal environmental information to promote horizontal development.

Amenity activities

As part of our environmental conservation activities, we actively participate in cleaning activities around our business sites and environmental activities in local communities.

  • Participation in park cleanup activities (Hiroshima Branch)
  • A nearby junior high school visiting our company to learn about our environmental activities (Sendai Branch)
  • An activity to raise awareness of non-smoking areas around train stations (Osaka Main Office)

In addition to the above environmental conservation activities, we are also promoting the following environmental conservation activities based on our environmental policy, objectives, and targets.

We are working to reduce CO2 emissions to prevent global warming.

Commitment to eco-friendly products

Expansion of eco-cables

In recent years, demand for eco-friendly electric wires (eco-cables) has also increased. Eco-cables are characterized by the fact that they do not contain halogen elements or heavy metals and that, in using them, there is no risk of air or soil pollution. They are also more recyclable than conventional cables. Our company is working to promote eco-friendly products such as eco-cables.

Reducing the environmental impact of company-owned vehicles

We are working to improve the fuel efficiency of our vehicles.

Switching to environmentally conscious stationery

We are promoting the switch to environmentally conscious stationery with the lowest possible environmental impact.
